Why ‘The Black Market’?

The black markets of WW2 were unique to each location, they popped up unexpectedly, contained products that were available at that time and place, brought the community together, gave people something outside of their ‘everyday’ and were a little bit naughty!

What’s the idea?
We are a 1940’s themed bespoke burlesque events company. Part of our uniqueness is not only that our events are made up entirely of local entertainers, food and drink brands as well as other local businesses, but we provide an entirely plant based and ‘free from’ catering menu that ensures none of the 14 allergens outlined by the FSA are used in our recipes. ‘Free from allergens, not from flavour!’

As part of the strong vegan community in Brighton, The Black Market contributes to providing high-quality food and entertainment across local venues and via private bookings that caters to the tastes of the town.

Our products are sourced from the local area (within a 10 mile radius of central Brighton) to ensure that we meet our aims in celebrating and supporting local manufacturers and artisan producers.

Currently you can Find Us at The Old Market theatre, you can book us HERE and you can order a selection of our Granola Toppers and Preserves or one of our Collections

We look forward to welcoming you at one of our events!
